Desmodium gangeticum

A common shrub, 2-4 ft. high, found almost throughout India, ascending to 5,000 ft. in the Himalayas. It is very variable and is met with, in its various forms, in forests and waste lands. The roots of the plant are used as febrifuge, bitter tonic.
A large genus of perennial or annual herbs or shrubs found throughout the tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world.
